Victoria's Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to provide spiritual support, physical restoration, and training to women working in the sex industry.

Mission and Vision

Mission

Made possible through the love of Jesus Christ, the mission of Victoria’s Friends is to individually serve women who are lost and trapped in the helplessness of working in sexually-oriented businesses.  As one of only a handful of survivor-led sexual exit organizations in the country, we seek to reach, restore and equip women in order to help them live healthy, flourishing lives.

We are committed to train, equip and mobilize leaders in order to develop sex industry outreaches in the Metro-Atlanta area and beyond.

Vision

As men and women of Christ, our vision is to reach and restore women involved in the sex industry and to let them know there is a God who loves them beyond measure. We encourage them through prayer, relationship, and the word of God in order to help them realize that they are loved, valued, and purposed. Our desire is that these women will experience breaking of chains and healing of wounds through a personal relationship with Jesus.

Core Organizational Values

The following core values drive and strengthen the ministry goals and activities of Victoria’s Friends.

Prayer

Prayer is essential to every thought, plan, and activity undertaken by Victoria’s Friends.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Unity

In the strip clubs, women are in competition with one another in order to succeed.  In stark contrast, Victoria’s Friends esteems and demands unity, for it is the remedy for division and the pathway to peace.  We are each uniquely different, yet unified in vision, values, and love and respect for one another.

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  Ephesians 4:3

Authentic Community

Authentic community is a powerful agent that facilitates healing, growth, and a sense of belonging in the world.  Knowing and being known by others counteracts isolation.  Authenticity in our relationships with one another allows us to be our true self and creates the conditions for us to live with integrity.  Transparency and honesty are central to authentic community.

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:35

Integrity

Being who we say we are, and doing what we say we are going to do is of the utmost importance.

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. Proverbs 11:3

Transformation

None of us have arrived.  We recognize that becoming who we have been created to be is a life-long journey.  We are committed to the process and celebrate the journey along the way.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Genuine Faith

Genuine faith is authentic and relational.  It integrates our beliefs and our lifestyle.  It infiltrates the choices we make and shapes our perspectives.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  Mark 12:30

Story

If you see the humanity in a person, it becomes more difficult to sexualize and objectify them. We believe that story is one of the most powerful and effective tools for change. Stats can be dry and data can be argued, but story stands on its own.  Story inspires us to hope.  When we see that someone else has overcome, it encourages us to do the same.

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

Revelation 12:11

Outreach

We bring God’s love to the places least expected:  into strip club dressing rooms. The work we do begins with an opportunity we extend to ladies for prayer, followed by an invitation to find healing, relationship, life-change, and freedom.  Outreach is the method by which we extend this invitation. We believe in meeting and loving people where they are.

But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? Romans 10:14

Education

We are committed to using the Victoria’s Friends outreach model and experience to train other leaders. We are qualified to help them develop strong, grassroots, effective outreaches to sex-industry women in their communities.

We also seek to deconstruct the façade of glamour surrounding the sex industry and to bring awareness to the public regarding the realities of the sex industry.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Proverbs 31:8-9

Partnership

As a volunteer-driven, community-based, church-rooted organization, we value partnership. Partnership with individuals and organizations enables us to thrive and is essential to our work.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
 Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

One By One

Although we desire to reach and positively impact woman in the sex industry globally, we are committed to being faithful to serve each one, one by one, with excellence.

Do for one what you wish you could do for everyone. ~Andy Stanley

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray and gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost? Matthew 18:12

Commitment for the Journey

Healing is a journey and recovery is a process.  Life change happens in the lives of the women we reach when they see we are committed to them for the long haul.  In a world where abdication, abuse and abandonment have caused so much pain for the women we serve, faithfulness is what it takes to draw them close and give them hope that a journey to freedom is possible.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.
Luke 4:18-19

Celebration

We work hard, play regularly, and laugh often. Celebrating special moments and victories along the way makes the journey sustainable and fun!

Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:2-3
